Tanzania
[edit]In April 2018, the president declared Dodoma to be the national capital, and in September, the National Assembly followed suit, passing the Dodoma Capital City Declaration Act, which explicitly and officially designated Dodoma as Tanzania's one and only capital city. ¹ Executive ministries have all transferred to Dodoma and the president states that he is only taking more time in Dar es Salaam because his mother is sick, declaring, "I will move soon. My mother is critically sick and that has prevent [sic] me from shifting at the moment. But I want to assure you that the move to Dodoma is now complete." ¹ ²
Clearly, the Wikipedia page incorrectly makes it sound like Dar es Salaam is still the "de facto" capital, with no recent changes in the staus quo. The reality is that Dodoma has been officially designated as the one and only capital, with the transfer of all ministries now complete.
Bolivia
[edit]This seems to be treated differently to all other countries with more than one capital. There are two country entries here, one for La Paz, and one for Sucre.
In other cases, the country is listed once only, with the capital that has primacy listed alphabetically. Other capitals are shown underneath the principal capital but in the same entry.
Stick to the topic
[edit]Several of the partially-recognized states have details on how many countries recognize them, even which ones, or even the international organizations they belong to. That is not pertinent to capital cities. That is found in the List of sovereign states. Donutcity (talk) 02:37, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- I agree, and that goes as well for all the entries with a note stating "British Overseas Territory" and the like. The notes should be about the capitals, not excuses for why the capital of each non-sovereign entity is included in the list. Largoplazo (talk) 02:50, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
